”Nex is just this guy… you know?” -Scott Heron
“Nex” can be translated from the Latin as “violent death” or “murder”. The word reminds me of a time in my life when I was wowed by the kids who broke the rules. The ones who thought they know what was best for the world and refused to hold any other truth. I was once one of them. And though I now realise that some rules should be broken, and some traditions should be changed, I realise that everyone should be examined for what it is worth. One should not fight against the main stream simply because most people do not.
I don't mind being a rebel. I just want to make sure that I have my reasons. I took on the name a long time ago. I have taken on others since, but that one will always remind me that breaking the rules can be okay sometimes.
Do not worry yourself with these things. I am content with the choice and it is not on you to change that. Enjoy this site if you like. If you would prefer not to enjoy it, then that is alright too. If you would like to do neither then I shall not stop you.
There were others who did not like this site. They chose to destroy it. I invite anyone with similar notions to read a letter that I have written to you. You need not read it if you are already content in your choice, but if you would like to read it, you may.
Nexisms are little sayings that amuse me. They are things I say, though they may not be entirely original. To see the confusions for yourself, go to the nexisms page.
There used to be a little tradition on the internet called, “the geek code”. A quick summation of the geekier aspects of ones life as a short sequence of characters that could be read by those who knew the code. Sadly the tradition seems to be somewhat lost these days. But for those who hold an interest in it, my own geek code is shown below.
-----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GCS d? s: a-- C++ UL++++ P+ L++ E W+++ N+ o K- w+ O-- M-- V-- PS+ PE Y+ PGP++ t+ 5-- X+++ R tv b++ DI+++ D++ G e* h* r y- ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------
There is also an easy way to decode it.
